The Second Student Scientific Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases
On May 28–29, 2026, the 2nd Student Scientific Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases was held in the assembly hall of the second building of the Alexander Natishvili Institute of Morphology.
This year’s conference was dedicated to the theme “The Impact of Gene Therapy on Neurodegenerative Diseases.” During the conference, students presented reports on current research in neurodegenerative diseases, the potential of gene therapy, and the challenges associated with its application in this field.
The scientific support of the conference was provided by Professor David Gigineishvili, who also participated in the selection process of the submitted abstracts. The session on the second day of the conference (May 29) was chaired by Professor Gigineishvili. On the same day, he delivered a lecture entitled “Gene Therapy in Neurodegenerative Diseases.”
The conference once again highlighted the growing interest of students in modern neuroscience and innovative therapeutic approaches. It also provided participants with an opportunity to share their research experience and discuss current issues and challenges in the field.
