On July 30–31, 2026, the A. Natishvili Institute of Morphology in Tbilisi hosted the presentation of the state grant-funded project “One More Step Toward Dignified Aging (Supporting the Development of a National Dementia Program)”.

Following the project presentation, a two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) module entitled “Dignified Aging: Cognitive Health and Dementia Management” was conducted. The course was led by Professor David Gigineishvili and Professor Nino Okribelashvili.

The educational program provided participants with up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge on the early recognition of dementia, cognitive health, diagnostic approaches, dementia management, and the importance of multidisciplinary care.

The module was attended by neurologists, psychiatrists, family physicians, psychologists, as well as physicians from various other medical specialties and healthcare professionals, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in dementia care.

The project aims to raise public awareness of dementia, strengthen professional education, and support the development of a National Dementia Program in Georgia.
